Integrated Curriculum Map

About this map

This Map describes the scope and sequence of Integrated Inquiry for Kindergarten* to Year 6. Inquiries are described using Big Understandings, Concepts and Key Questions to further prompt and define the inquiry. *The Kindergarten sequence requires further development during Term 1 2006.

This Map complements our How we Organise our Programs at FPS document that describes the place of the three organisers: Environments and Technologies; Heritage and Civics and Citizenship.

The collaborative creation of each Integrated inquiry is to guided by the Design for Learning literature and resources with the aim of compiling a library of inquires that can be used, modified and revised over time.

A Curriculum Committee will be formed to provide for stage, staff and community input and refinement of the Map over time.

The role of the Environment Centre (EC) program in our curriculum: The EC program will focus on technical learning and action about Wastewise programs, Horticulture and Permaculture with a sequenced and where appropriate, negotiated support of specific integrated inquiries.

Future revisions of this map will need to reflect preschool programming.
